Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association
CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) offers internationally recognized certifications for doulas, childbirth educators, lactation educators, and new parent educators. Their programs emphasize evidence-based training, compassionate care, and professional excellence. Certification involves attending CAPPA-approved trainings, completing coursework, and passing an exam. CAPPA also offers online learning through CAPPA Academy and financial aid via the Perez Scholarship Fund.
Certified Labor Doula (CLD)

Recertification
The purpose of recertification is for CAPPA certified professionals to document their professional growth and continuing education. Recertification is required every 3 years. Contact hours for recertification must be relevant to and within the Scope of Practice of your program.
